Giving to charity

So a while ago I came up with the idea that I would donate money to charity for subscribers and followers etc. so the system I came up with was 1 penny per new twitter follower or Youtube subscriber and 1 penny for every 10 views on a specific video which was a video I made announcing the idea.

Now I know a penny isn't a lot but it was mainly just in case (unlikely I know) that I wake up to thousands new subs/followers etc. I just donated the first amount which was only 68p but it felt quite nice doing it.

The problem I have only just thought about is that it may look like I'm trying to buy the followers and subs which was not my intention.

What do people think?

Better execute such ideas as - All earnings from this video will go to charity etc. Do not know much but exchanging them into subs/followers on social media - aint quite the right way. Maybe someone will have different mind than mine, but that's just how it looks.
 
That's what I was worried about. Incidentally it works out that I have donated more than what that video would make me so by saying all earnings would reduce how much money I would give to charity :/

You're trying to do something good for the world; and that's nice to see.

Here's some other fundraising ideas you might like... "For everyone who comments donate in the comments section of this video, I will donate £1 to charity". You could also set up a JustGiving fundraising page (free), where anyone can donate, and you can even set up a free text number which takes money out of donors' credit.

Similar to what others have said, I'd see it as more of a popularity contest than for charitable reasons.
Opening a Patreon account designed to support creators and making it optional to give, maybe varying the charities per month, sounds like a better idea? Showing you're passionate about charity work is great though :)
 
What my parents always used to say if give with a light heart. If you don't tell anyone about the goals you set, in regards to giving, then it shouldn't worry anyone.

Plus, giving to charity is incredible, and I don't think any motive is wrong
