Reddit can do wonders if you hit the nail on the head. Be sure to not only use Reddit to dump your own comment, but contribute otherwise. When making a YT post, make it in a fitting subreddit and have a honest but catchy title. It doesn't have to be same as the Youtube title. More often a different title would be best. I did for example just post a video on /r/playrust, the sub for the game Rust. What I posted was a satirical montage parody titled "[MLG Pro] RUST Montage - 1v1 me Rust!". However, that'd make a horrible title on Reddit. What I posted it as was "How I imagine players on servers with intense PvP". This has a catchy tongue-in-cheek sound to it and makes people browsing curious as to what that might be. I also cross-posted it onto another fitting subreddit where it got even more upvotes. Got me over 3k quick views in half a day and some new subs from it, completely independent from my own channel's size. Reddit is useful.
Point is; here I used a fitting subreddit with little competition and positive outlook on videos. I contribute with other stuff too. The video is short and catchy. The title is honest, quirky and click-inducing. Titling it the same as the vid or something like "So I'm new on Reddit but here's a funny video I made" would be a horrible idea.
Find a subreddit. Watch the subreddit. Learn the subreddit. Post the subreddit. Profit from that subreddit.
