Hey guy, I think every once and a while I am going to post minecraft videos on my vlogging channel, but I have a question. Do most people do face cams with the cam on their computer? I have never done this before and am not sure if the camera on my mac is going to be good enough to use. Also for recording do I need a mic or the computer sound is good enough. Sorry for being a noob, I have never recorded game play before.

Not many people really use Face cams from what I've seen, but it adds a great effect for your videos, and more contact with your subscribers! Your webcam sound quality might not be that great, but you can get away with it. You're gonna have to test that out.

Facecams are only useful for horror games or games where your reaction matters. For a minecraft lp? avoid.

People usually record it separately for live commentary gameplays. There are ways to do it together but it's a little more complicated.

What I'd do is record myself off my webcam (It is a good webcam, not a cheap unit or a default laptop one), then record the gameplay using a gameplay capture card. After I'm done I'll edit everything and sync the two recordings together on Final Cut.

Face cams can go great with any game, not just horror games. Although, viewers will like it or not like it depending on how you react and show yourself on camera.

Thanks for the tips, I am going to try experiment with it and see how it comes out. Plus I need to practice I haven't played minecraft in so long lol.
