Game Soundtrack Copyright!?

Hi, I posted a video playing the video game NBA 2K15 and I received an email from Youtube saying they cannot monetize my video. Can someone explain to me in further detail what exactly monetizing is? I am pretty sure it is when Youtube places ads on my videos, which allows me to receive money, and I do not want them taking that away from me. To sum it all up, Youtube is punishing me for using music in my video that is used in the games soundtrack (which I have no control over). HELP!?
Here is a screenshot of the email: Attached

Yea you do not own the permission to use the soundtrack, maybe just turn your music off in game?

They aren't punishing you. Calm down. All they said is that you can't monetize your vid. It just means you can't earn money from the video. And at the size of your channel it shouldn't matter because you would make barely any money from it. You're lucky because they aren't taking down your video completely and giving you a flag.

Doesn't the all EA sports games have songs in them that are copyrighted? Because they're chart/pop songs?
If so that's the reason why so next time you record turn off the music in game :)

So what should I do to prevent this in the future?

I wouldn't worry about it. I get "claimed" on all of my Final Fantasy XIII videos. Square Enix lets me keep the videos up but they take whatever revenue comes in on the video.

Almost every game that I've ever played as an option to turn the music off. Just make sure you do that on any game that you record and it should help to negate the problem in the future. It's not a strike. A claim isn't a problem, but a strike is a big thing.
