Game Capturing

MrMaceCon

Huh Waffles?
So is Elgato the best out there? Or are they just the best at marketing? Just curious as to what you guys use to go game captures and what might be the best for me. Thanks in advance.

The Elgato lives up to it's reputation. It's the best option for 1080p Game Recording, many YouTubers recommend it.

I'd say if you got the cash for it, go for it. :)

Yeah I've done a ton of research on the options that are available and they seem to be the best, Just not sure if i wanna fork out the $150 ha

A lot of people question if the Roxio is as good as people make it out to be, but I've got a few close friends who made the purchase and they haven't had any cons, just a long list of pros.

It's pretty much a plug n play system. :)

Well I guess I will find out when I get my next paycheck and I decide to make a purchase of some kind!!! Its more me wanting to mess with vids of my gameplays then actually do a gameplay YT vid/channel lol

As many other threads have already stated this, the elgato is superior in the game capture area. I have one myself, and it is very good.

I recently swapped my old Hauppauge HD PVR with an Elgato Game Capture HD and it is currently the best capture card I've bought. Apart from recording in 1080p HDMI you can also live stream straight from the card to Twitch. You can also add live commentary to your video without the use of external software and editing later, you literally just push a button to start commentary and live streaming, a very simple but powerful device.

I have an HDR pvr and have been looking at the elgato for quite sometime I am incredibly close to buying one for myself if I ever get the funds ofc XD

It's definitely a great investment, they are quite expensive but you won't regret buying it, it does so much for such a small device.

I love my elgato, it took time to get me started up because I didn't have a laptop and my TV wasn't close to my PC. So I shifted my PS4 to where my pc was and just use my monitor for both now. I just wish I could power the elgato with an external HDD.

Note: If you are planning to record next gen footage you need an HDMI splitter until they unlock the HDMI encryption.
