I've Got It
ok so iv read through ALOT of articles from people with past experience trying to share there experience with people like myself, im brand new to the world of youtube and have tried taking all points on board but still nothing, REDDIT is a dead lead in my opinion, i literally get nothing from there and i think i have actually posted every 1 of my videos on there lol 90% have only about 20 views lol
the only reason i have over 100 views on a couple of my videos is that i own a facebook page with 30k fans but still even when i post on that page i have only managed to gain 400 views lmao its driving me crazy! if i didnt have this page i would literally only have 20 views on every video...
i would ask about subs aswel as i only have 1 myself but tbh if i cant get views onto the videos what hope do i have getting subs ><

I don't have a lot of views myself, but I took a look at your most recent video. It's fairly short but was interesting. I looked at your tags as well which were: pain, soldier, funny, bored, test, kit, and your user id #thing.
My suggestions would be first: upload a profile picture. Firstly, unless I went directly to your channel I wouldn't know you had videos due to the fact that you have no profile image.

Second, optimize your banner. Even just adding your channel name/ brief description or keywords would allow anyone who hovers of your avatar when you leave comments, to see that you are uploading vids, and want to click through potentially.

Forgot to say, but you should make your tags a bit more specific, include the keywords in your title, and make some short phrases with them. As they are, I think it might be difficult to compete with large channels without making them more specific.

Third, make custom thumbnails for your videos. As is, aside from your latest ones, the others show vertical image which indicates it was likely taken on a cell phone, and with just an image of that and no indication of anything else, there's not much reason to click through.

Fourth, Change your profile to the custom layout. That way your videos will be the highlight, rather than your liked playlist. As it is, it almost appears that you have no uploads.

Fifth, perhaps make longer videos.

I learned this info from any of the videos you will find if you search "how to gain subscribers" or something similar in youtube. Many threads here have the same info. Hth.

It definitely won't happen overnight, brethren. I won't touch on this subject too long because @chari already stated the first steps you can take... I've used the "What I learned while gaining my first 1000 subs" thread in located in the "Strategies & Technique Advice" forum (it's stickied)

I don't have alot of subs/views, but that is the most realistic article I can personally relate to as far as growth. It may not be ideal for everyone, but maybe you should also point your channel in just one direction for now (don't get me wrong, I LOVE cats and soldiers lol)

Also, @chari how can you see other people's tags? I thought YouTube changed that? 0_o

@mrtjrages
I use chrome browser, so I can only tell you from there, but go to the youtube video that you want to see the tags for, right click, and go to ->View Page Source . Then, if you do page find (F3 on windows), type in "keywords". This should show you the tags. It is accurate, as I've done it on my own videos, and the tags I use show up there.

The first result will say something like <meta name="keywords" content=
That will only show the first few tags. If you go to the second result from your search, it should show all tags.

Hth:thumbsup2:

Ok thanks for the info, I will try I put some of these into to practice, tbh I do struggle with the tags and the correct title due to whenever someone does type something into search it is always the bigger channels that pop up first rather than the smaller 1s if I hadn't of advertised on Facebook I wouldn't even be in double figures right now lol

Also with using 1 direction, tbh my direction is purely me and my life, obviously I'm a soldier, my cats are funny and my kids are mental, tbh I think a lot of YouTube is pure luck, if you just need that 1 breakthrough to get noticed

Time, time, and more time. Your oldest upload was only 2 months ago, so you're still shiny-new in YouTube terms. You need to of course have great thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and tags, but getting noticed (outside of something that goes viral in some way) takes a lot of time on the platform.
