Hi guys. As you know Christmas has just gone, and I don't know about you but it's left me very poor :( . I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good video editing software that is free.

I didn't get that much either this year, because all the stuff I wanted I already have so I got a few bucks and a Woody figure. I could recommend Windows Movie Maker to start with :) It's free, easy to use and it will do the trick till you have money for a better program.

I used to edit videos with windows movie maker and it's not good quality wise :L
and it won't compress a file which means it has taken me days (because of my crappy internet) to upload :L

@lioblade If wait around till you have a spare £30 then sony vegas is the best thing to get on amazon :)

It was really bad for me :L

It's on amazon for £36.99 or the older version is for £21.99

Thanks for all your suggestions. I used Movie Maker for my 1st two videos, and it's done doing what's required of it at the moment. I was thinking of getting Sony Vegas when I could, so I guess I know what I'm buying when I can. Thanks again.

What I did for a really long time was, download the trial of Adobe After Effects. It is a great video editing program with lots of neat effects and you can learn a lot from it on YouTube. Then when the trial is over, I uninstalled it and re installed the trial again. I did that for a couple months until I was able to get the full version which was really no different than the trial. I just wanted to get rid of the hassle of re-downloading it every month. If you have any more questions if you ever download it, just ask!
