I Love YTtalk
(I'm pretty sure this is in the wrong place so if a mod could move it where it's supposed to go that'd be great)
I read a post on this website a while ago called "do looks really matter?" And while the truth is that yes, they do, there's no reason to get down about it.
We've all seen channels with attractive, energetic girls or boys that make average to less than average videos, but have a ton of subscribers just based on the fact that they are attractive. And yes, while I am jealous too, we need to look at the big picture.
Lets say that you (hopefully) are putting a ton of effort into your videos and each one is better than the last. Your content is really good, but the fact that your face is in the thumbnail isn't drawing people in (lets be real). Then this other channel over here makes a 10 minute TMI tag that's really boring and pretty much all they do is fix their hair every two seconds and they get subscribers from it. While it might not seem like it, they're going to be doing that exact same thing years from now while your content is progressively getting better and is more exponential.
What I'm trying to say is that you will end up being more successful than them because no amount of attractiveness can make you successful. This isn't Instagram, it's Youtube and at the end of the day it's about the content. Even though, relatively, a lot of people watch that one channel now, there's going to be that same amount of people watching years from now. You may have had your channel longer and are slightly less attractive, but there will be people out there who recognize your effort and there's more of the latter than people absorbed in looks.
