Hey guys I was wondering what should I do for my first video as I am new to youtube, should i do a short video for my channel trailer or go straight into what most of my videos are going to be like?? Any ideas or tips comment below please

I would make the trailer first, who knows you may go viral and you should have something to hook them in right away
 
I do not suggest a trailer video first. This would set yourself into a box of expectations that you set for yourself in the trailer.

I suggest you do the first thing that comes to mind. Explore your options. Do anything and everything. Once you know what you're comfortable with and what you're best at, then make a trailer to display what you're capable of.

Do something you're passionate about, and have the expectation that it's going to be objectively terrible. Your first few videos aren't about wowing people - they're about you getting comfortable with a camera and the process of pre-production, filming, and post-production.

Find some topic you think you can discuss easily, and give it a go :)

Ok cheers mate, but if I am doing gameplays show I still talk about a topic or should i talk about the game or a mixture of both?
 
Just anything. lol

My first video on Youtube was from a game I played back in the days on my other channel.

When you're playing a game you should always react to the game's elements (dying or whatever) but in down times, you can talk about anything you want. Don't restrict yourself to a topic. Say whatever comes to mind. You can talk about your day, or anything else.
