First Video

I finally got around to posting one of my first videos. Let me know what you guys think! Any criticism (good or bad) is appreciated. Especially on what I can improve on!

there are random black cuts in between the clips, don't know if that was intentional or not but it breaks the flow of the video. Also I didn't feel the clips were really anything special, sniping with widow maker isn't too hard, do clips while falling from a ledge or do the grappling hook trick, or POTGs etc

ps. try to make the video fill the frame

pps. +points for not having some stupid 3D text dubstep intro

I wanted the black cuts in to separate the different clips, but now that you mention something I can see how they do seem quite annoying. Also, I know the clips didn't seem too special, as for me simply getting a headshot or a kill with Widowmaker is a bit hard for me (Never been too great with snipers). Maybe if I get enough clips of cool headshots I'll do another montage.

Anywho, thanks for the tips! They are greatly appreciated! :)

Im the same way, I suck at sniping, in fact all I play in overwatch is usually Bastion (I rarely play the game tho, when I do its usually just a few games and Im just trying to f**k around).

Only recently found this site and have minimal experience with video editing and such so will respond as a YouTube viewer. As Olroy said, the "black cuts" are distracting though I may have focused on them a bit more after reading Olroy's post. Also, I kept waiting for the video to build up to more exciting clips or a finale of sorts since it was a montage but was instead left with a reload and victory screen. To kind of piggyback off of Olroy's comments again, it is nice to see some kind of variety in the clips as well. It doesn't have to be cool grapple shots or jump snipes, just something slightly different than standstill eliminations; even a change in video tempo or music can add variety as well.

As a final note to this post, please don't take anything I am saying personally. I enjoyed the video, but also want to provide a critique regarding what I like to see in a video. It doesn't mean that my comments are correct, it is just my personal preference. Take what you want from my comments and others, mix it into your own preferences and you'll end up with an even better end product. So, keep at it and keep em coming.. I look forward to the next one!

Of course, I won't take it personally! I did, after all, ask for criticism! Without criticism, I can't improve for later videos! Not sure if I'll ever do another sniping montage, but for any other montages that I make I'll definitely make sure that it builds up to something better and I'll remove the black when it switches clips. Again, thank you for letting me know what I can improve on in the future!

Nice video man! I enjoyed the music.
Thanks!
