Final Cut Pro vs Adobe Premiere Pro?

I've Got It
Hey guys. I've been using Adobe Premiere Pro for almost two years now but I've been told Final Cut Pro renders quicker. Is this really true and if so is it significantly quicker? Also, do you use Premiere or Final Cut? And if so which do you prefer and why?

I've used both, and I don't see much difference in rendering time. The most important thing you need is a computer that can handle the processing as quickly as possible....the software can only do so much for you, in terms of rendering time.

For me, switching just because of render time would be totally unnecessary as it usually only takes me two or so minutes to render. So if there are no other significant differences between the two, I'll probably just stick to Premiere Pro. And thanks for the response!

I have used both. I have not noticed much difference between the two. For a 15 min long video i am normally looking around 40 mins render time. I try to stick to premier pro as i am more confident in the software. also like how easy it is to go into audition for removing background noise.

I moved this to the video editing / software discussion forum. ^_^

For me, the big annoyance with Final Cut Pro is that it crashes if you click too many things before it renders. That's mostly my computer not being powerful enough, but I'd imagine it'd be easy to over-click and crash the program with most computers. I've usually ran into this problem when I have lots of layers for something such as a complex greenscreen effect. Once it crashes, it usually has only auto-saved up until the last time it finished rendering.... There is no "save button," just an auto-save mechanism.

I'm not sure what Adobe Premier does if someone over-clicks tasks, but it's something to consider! Lots of YouTubers complain that FCPX crashed and either corrupted the file or lost their work. x_x

I’ve been using Premiere Pro. I haven’t used Final Cut, but most people I’ve talked to prefer Premiere over FCP.
My videos are of pretty high quality, color graded, etc...and I don’t have the fastest computer so my render times can be crazy long sometimes. But I just let it sit overnight so it’s all good haha

I've heard that FCP crashes from a few other people as well. Even big YouTubers with excellent computers (like iJustine) seem to have issues with crashing. Premiere Pro has never once crashed on me and I usually have a lot happening while I'm editing. Also it auto saves regularly. Once had a power outage while editing and only lost about two minutes worth of work thanks to the auto save function.[DOUBLEPOST=1501795228,1501794798][/DOUBLEPOST]

I love the easy access to audition. It's such a fantastic little tool. With Premiere It only takes me about 2-3 minutes to render a 4 minute video on my PC. Takes about 10 minutes on my laptop. If there isn't much difference I suppose I might as well stick with what I know :)[DOUBLEPOST=1501795591][/DOUBLEPOST]

Judging by the responses here, Premiere Pro seems like the preferred option for most people. Do you colour grade your videos in Premiere Pro itself or do you edit there then export to a different software for colour grading? That's one thing I really want to improve on but I've just never gotten the hang of it.
