Hey YTtalk, I've had an idea for a little while for a video series I'd like to do and I'd like some feedback on what you think!

Basically, a tutorial on how to make good let's play videos from start to finish for free (or very cheap)
Covering things such as,
-Setting up
-Audio
-Recording
-Editing
-and various other tips.

I'd like the tutorials to be fairly straightforward and allow any noob to start making good videos.
I'd also like them to be able to be seen by LPers who've been at it for a while for ways to make their videos more professional looking.

What do you think? To my knowledge this hasn't been done much.
 
Go for it! Just don't be one of those 5 year olds that know way more about something than me that I'm always learning stuff from... :/
 
I think it is a good idea. I think it should be free of course, I don't think anyone would pay for a tutorial unless you are someone really established and skillful. There actually are a lot of videos/tutorials already about aspects of making videos like video recording, commentary, editing, etc., so it won't be that unique but if you think you can make a good series on it and really want to do it then go for it.

Ah I meant free as in without buying any software, using only free and open source things. I'd not charge a penny for the videos :)
It's true there are tutorials on some aspects, but I haven't yet seen one the fully covers each aspect from start to finish[DOUBLEPOST=1379982799,1379982752][/DOUBLEPOST]

Haha I intend to research the aspects I'm not as knowledgeable on, I don't want to sound "above" everyone else.
 
Sure! It sounds like a great idea. But remember to add the tips that a lot of people don't know, so you can appeal us people who know a lot of the general stuff :P

I'll be aiming at both, so hopefully!
 
It sounds like a great idea to me! Just in time for the Xbox One and PS4 to automatically upload game footage to YouTube :p
