Feasibility of joining a network to find an audience?

Feasibility, viability, however you like to describe it, we're talking in this thread about a brand new Channel, essentially new to the business and monetised and marketing side of YouTube, which wants to be ever more popular with it's audience - whatever that audience may be at this point.

Yes, of course there are obviously places to improve personally regarding content creation, that's a given, but I'm wondering if there's a genuine beneficial reason to turn to a MCN or other similar group, in order to promote your videos more through that network or group, and find an audience quicker than it usually would to stay independent.

Is it worth actively searching for an MCN with appropriate policies, contractual obligations and whatnot, to help boost views and subs? Should I look for these opportunities if or when they arise, and are they generally flexible enough for someone with a stable, 40-50 hour week job, to take his time to edit his videos in the desired fashion and publish them on specific day/schedule?

Or, on a relatively related note, would it be more viable to collaborate with one or more YouTubers in order to both network and gain an audience through their target audience/subs, through them? For example, it would be just as easy, if not easier, to potentially find collab opportunities on this forum alone.

What do you guys think? Small channels or bigger Channels, I don't care, I would love an opinion on this.

You should read the reviews about Networks on here first bro...

Take it from me...do NOT go and join a network/partner, grow your audience through collaborations e.t.c, let the networks come to you and then negotiate, trust me!

A very short answer to your question: No :p
Networks do not help with growing your audience or view count. Collaborations would be a safer bet :)

I'm speaking entirely from what I've heard other people say, but the truth appears to be that networks will not provide any value to small channels. certainly don't expect any significant (or even any) exposure etc. They will happily take your money, though.

Thanks for your opinions on this matter, I just wanted to be more able to clearly draw the line between what works between network contracts and friendly collaborations.

Yes, and I intend to, there seems like a lot of unnecessary red tape for what I want to do and I do not like a lot of red tape! Or the politics that come with it, for that matter, or any politics, really. Research definitely needs to be done in that regard.

I think I will look more towards getting to know people on YTTalk and networking and collaborating with those I can have things in common with!
