Hi guys!
Have anyone else noticed some strange copyright notices where they shouldn't be?
Also, an ad on a video of yours that is not monetized?
I noticed both of those appearing on some of my videos, and at first I didn't connect the two, but now I think they might be.
First of all, videos in question are Grim Fandango Let's Plays, and Double Fine productions clearly states on their website that they allow publishing (and even monetizing) of all kinds of gamplay videos of their games (most companies do, but in never hurts to check anyway).
Second, the claim says only: "Visual content administered by ESL affiliate". No music, nothing but gameplay, and no mention of Double Fine. I couldn't even google the "ESL affiliate", I get pages like "English Spanish Lessons" etc.
Of course, I successfully disputed all the claims within 1 day. First time I got an e-mail saying that "the dispute has not been reviewed after 30 days (which is nonsense because the claim is only 1 day old and the video 2 days) and therefore the claim was released". The other two times they simply disappeared, no notification or whatever...
So what I think is going on here, someone is putting false copyright claims on other people's videos so that they could put ads on them and earn money off of them! And many people are probably afraid to dispute a claim so they do nothing...
Has anyone else noticed something like that?
