False Copyright Claim

I removed the video in question a while ago , but I am just curious.
I had a parody video and it had a song playing in the background : Two Steps From Hell - Heart of courage.
I was not making a single penny out of the video and it was falling under fair use , but the video got claimed. It was not even claimed by Two Steps From Hell or any member that contributed to the song. It was falsely claimed by another random youtube user.
What do you do in situations like these?
Will YouTube take action against stuff like this?

I am by no means an expert, but a song playing in the background is typically not considered fair use. I think that in this instance Youtube would deem the process as working as intended. In your case if you are very sure you are in the right, you have the option to contest. But in your case I wouldn't have contested. In the future I would just make sure that no songs are playing in the background, unless you actually have the right to use them.

You can have songs playing in the background if they are copyright free [NoCopyrightSounds for example] and if you credit the creator.
I know Two Steps From Hell is the owner of the song , but what bothers me the most is the fact that the person who claimed it does not even own the song.

Like I said:

unless you actually have the right to use them.

When there is no copyright, you have the right to use them. The fact that the person claiming the song isn't the actual owner is secondary to me. Two wrongs don't make a right.
