False Claim... Grrr

The Bassment

Posting Mad!
No real point to this thread, just needed to vent somewhere about my highest earning video getting a copyright claim slapped on it from some random company who have registered some audio with a similar title to my video.

Disputed, but I bet they don't remove the claim until they have to, they really ought to reimburse you with the earnings that are going to this fake company once the claim is released.

Ahhh these copyright things are flippin' infuriating!! I don't see why it's a case of 'guilty-until-proven-innocent' and not the other way around, like everything else in life.

Claimants do not earn revenue from disputed claims, it [match policy] is frozen upon a dispute.
Are you sure? I've been told a few times that if a claimant disputes, the revenue goes to them. It's not held in escrow or anything like that.

When you get a claim and the copyright holder decides to monetize the video, depending on the claim nature (audio/visual/audiovisual), they'll get half or 100% of the revenue generated from that video. From the moment you dispute the claim, all revenue is lost (monetization is disabled) and goes straight to YouTube until an agreement is found.

I really hated when companies did that to me. Especially on videos I did during a series, it happens way less now, but jeeze.
