Hey Rolz,
Angle:
Personally I don't like it being right in front of my face, I'd prefer to have it at a slight angle to the left or right, Markiplier and JackSepticeye do this pretty well. One thing to remember is to make sure when you're editing, you're facing inwards, to the centre of the video. It looks weird if someones at an angle and they're facing outwards imo (I feel like I'm explaining this badly). My camera angle needs to change, it's too much of a side profile, there's definitely a sweet spot of between side profile and head on. This may sound weird but, pick an angle that you feel you look good in, it'll make you feel more confident.
Background:
If you have a nice camera which blurs the background a little, it's ok to have a few things in there; if not, a blank wall is good. If this isn't possible, try hanging up a sheet or something on the wall where your camera is facing.
Mic:
Entirely up to you on this one, some people do, some don't. Personally I only show the mic if I keep leaning into the screen (that's because if I didn't I'd lean in and my face would get cut off).
Note - I'm in no way successful on YouTube, this is just my thoughts at the moment from seeing what other people do and what I like personally.
Good luck! (I realise this may be a bit late now...)
