Facecam Help?

I was hoping to maybe find out to overlay a facecam in the top corner.. I can't seem to figure it out. Any ideas?

Normal video preferably. I have OBS, Wirecast, Dxtory, Fraps.. and none of them co-operate.

You can do this with Sony Vegas or any other decent video editing software. Google is your friend.

well all you need to do is make an overlay in photoshop and then insert it as a picture into your editing software and bam your done. Just make sure when you make the overlay in photoshop that the background is transparent.

Also, make sure you save it as a .PNG file or it wont be transparent in Sony Vegas. (jpg isn't transparent when I'm using SV for some reason).

Here is what I do to record my Facecam:


I record my in game footage using Fraps (Game video and sound)

I used Audacity to record my voice

I use OBS to record my webcam and save it locally.


I then get the 3 pieces of footage and sync them up in Sony Vegas. This takes longer and uses much more space but it gives me the ability to change and move each individual piece.


Also a little tip; If you’re going to be doing green screen stuff make sure your headphones are not green, learnt that one the hard way.

If you use OBS, this'll be easy.

Go to Sources, right-click to add, select Video Capture, and then scale it down for your video

But at the moment I'm using OBS to record my gameplay, can I still use it to record a webcam as well? Fraps just causes to much CPU strain.. I have a Quad Core @ 4.1Ghz...

Yeah, Just add your Video Capture Device to your sources and resize it using edit scene.
