I've Got It
This may be the wrong place to post this but I was wondering if anyone out there has got/used an Eye-Fi card & if you have what are your thoughts?
I'm debating but can't decided if they are a good idea or just a bit gimmicky!

I often need to re record or think of something else to add to my videos which used to mean a lot of unplugging and replugging until i got an eye-fi SD it saves me so much time in fafing around. I recomend it if your the same

That's good to bare in mind. Do you think the quality is just as good transfering footage wirelessly?

Transferring the data over WiFi should not alter the quality as it is the same packets of information, rather than it being compressed... etc.

However my question is how are the transfer rates? Does it get really slow and clunky? @Jamiet88

yea I didn't see a change in quality, it is just as good as it was with a wire[DOUBLEPOST=1387125657,1387125545][/DOUBLEPOST]

I got a pretty decent one, it is a little slower than cable by a little bit so if i have a large video to trnsfer i still use cable, but for short clips it's not even noticable. I'd say video over 10 minutes in HD is when i would use the cable, anything less than that i just use the WiFi

I have had one, and reviewed one in the past - one of my older videos so excuse the low quality etc!

My opinion - its not worth the extra cost.

Its a great concept for those who are in photo shots etc as the images are transferred straight to a computer/laptop with a larger screen, so can be reviewed straight away as they are being taken. You can also set it to delete the files from the card as they are transferred - hence making an almost limitless card in terms of capacity.
The quality is the same regardless - thats dependant on your camera and the image itself. There is no difference in quality whether you transfer over WiFi, cable, or card reader.

For general home users its not such an ideal piece of equipment. Seriously, how much longer is it going to take you to plug a USB cable or a card reader into your computer?? I'd rather spend the extra money on a higher capacity, and faster, card.

Just my opinion ;)
