Not every text needs Bevel&Emboss. Try to always be creative and create new things. I have a thread here of the ones I've mad which are a lot. always try new things and don't just stick to one thing or the basics. Look up tutorials and look at other channels for inspiration.

That's what I did, I made banners for free to raise my own skill and build a nice portfolio. Then you can convince people easier to purchase a banner and they come out looking amazing.

It's true free is a decent way to start so people can see your work.
