External Hard Drives

Hi guys.

I'm looking for an external hard drive for my computer to help it's performance while recording, to reduce frame rate drops. What do you guys use? Are there any you can recommend to me?

I use Seagate's.

If you get a Western Digital do NOT use their software to set it up. I had bought a 2 TB hard drive way back when, it's broken about 6 times and they are terrible with customer service

Mmm, I use WD and have good experience using their products. Never had a problem with Customer Service nor broken HDDs.

I mean I couldve gotten a dud, but I will be buying a seagate from here on out

Just go for an SSD instead, Seagate are terribad.

Not to be an a**e, but why are you considering an external drive for performance? USB is an inferior transfer medium so unless you're connecting the external via an e-sata port, you won't see as much improvement in performance as you would just getting an internal drive.
