Endcards?

I Love YTtalk
I've been think about endcards and just wondering your thoughts. Answer one or all the questions if you wish.

  • What makes a good endcard?
  • Do you actually click the annotations in an endcard?
  • Do you think it is better to link one video at the end or 2 (or more) videos?
  • What colors make a good endcard?
  • Do you think a subscribe button in the endcard is a good or bad idea?
  • What programs do use/ think people should use to make a good endcard?
  • Any types of videos where endcards are not appropriate?
  • Any thoughts on endcards in general you'd like to add?

I'm still struggling with my endcard at the moment, but here's what I think about endcards:

  • Endcard should have your logo on it somewhere, have colors that match your overall color scheme and be interesting.
  • I almost always click some sort of annotation at the end of a video, if I liked it.
  • I think it's better to link two videos, in case the person watching has seen one of the videos, but maybe not the other. You can always link to your other channel, a collaborators channel, etc.
  • Like I said before, any colors that match your overall theme I'd say would be good.
  • I don't personally have a subscribe button right now, but that's not to say you shouldn't put one. I've never really seen that as a bad option.
  • I'd say Gimp would be the best free solution, unless you have Photoshop.
  • Can't think of any reason why you wouldn't want an endcard, unless you only have one video and never plan on making another one again lol.
  • For those that have the ability, I recommend making the endcard have a clip of your video you want to show off instead of a still image...which is what I've been stuck doing right now. You get way more clicks because it's like watching a really short movie trailer. If they like what they see they'll click, but with a still image most people try to judge the whole video off of the one image and they may not want to watch the video.
