I think wait times vary channel to channel. A 5 week wait is pretty good.

Thanks dude. I imagine it's probably pretty good considering the time of the year. I know most will probably have to wait until January.
 
That's exactly what happened with me- I hit the 1k subs/4k watch hours on October 15th exactly and got my approval email today. It's good to see we don't all have to wait until the end of the year!
