Which one is better in your own opinion and why!? If none of those, Which one do you think is best?
(I Play PS3/PS4)

Elgato, no doubt. It's easily the best and most reliable capture device on the market. It has live recording options, flashback recording, and works for pretty much every system. It also has live stream capabilities, and doesn't need to be plugged into an outlet. I could keep going on haha, but it's definitely superior.

Elgato, I used it for my GTA V review and I've been using it for my Batman and ACIV playthrough. I'm really hoping they add the option to record audio as a seperate file though. It automatically records in 59.94 fps and it's constant too.

Starting out?

I recommend HD PVR1 or 2 or Roxio HD, they are good, cheap, reliable HD capture cards. They are not the best on the market but they are cheap and easy to use.

Looking for the best?

I recommend El Gato. They are more expensive but the features are just incredible! I currently have a Roxio HD and I am hoping to get a El Gato in the future.

I have a hauppauge HD PVR 2. It gets the job done.

From what I've read, El Gato is probably a better choice.

But if you have a hauppauge, it definitely is not worth spending an extra 150$ to switch over.

Hauppauge usually is the best, for TV capture cards, but when I bought the PVR2 GE Plus, I had nothing but problems with it. I bought it to record 5.1 audio and listen to gameplay in 5.1 audio, turns out I could only record 5.1 and listen in stereo, which my current capture card at the time would do stereo only, so I was back to square 1. Their support? Omg, I contacted their support in US and they automatically transfer me to some Singapore support team who could barely understand what I was saying and I could barely understand what they were saying and I ended up having to repeat myself so many times. I gave up and sent the Hauppauge back, I was at a point where I had given up on trying to record PS3 footage (it cut me too as I wanted to record a playthrough with a very close friend) until Ebay had the Elgato up for $179AU as a special (they normally retail around $229AU+ here). I decided having to record audio in Audacity was a small sacrafice for my viewers. So far the only thing I've noticed is that I need to pause the footage when recording, otherwise the gameplay audio goes out of sync. I would contact Elgato further but I'm not going to sit there and listen while they try to beat around the bush and tell me my PC is incapable. lol But so far the Elgato has actually functioned better than I expected, much better than I expected. It's not perfect in terms of UI, in fact the UI functionality and user friendliness is pretty bad comparing to other capture cards but it gets the job done better for me. I might even start using it for my PC since my C985 can't capture above 30fps and even if I set it to 30fps it's STILL variable. Useless AVmerdia crap.

I second this, I have a hauppage but think that the elgato is better from what I have read!!
