editing software

hey everyone, I was just wondering what editing software you all use? I use Sony movie studio platinum 13.0... Its great. I was using windows movie maker for a long time. I could do a ton of effects that you wouldn't expect on wmm. The only thing I hated about windows was the fact that the second you put your video in there it brought the quality down to about 360p and there was no way to make HD videos... so what do you use?

Also, when I used moviemaker I could make full hd videos, dunno why yours did that.
