3 questions regarding font.

  1. So I used 3 different fonts. One for letters. One for numbers. One for punctuations. I wanted to know if it's possible to merge these 3 fonts into a font of there own so I wouldn't have to keep switching and changing the font type, size, leading and kerning every time I use numbers or punctuations.

  2. One of the font that I use are not exactly the way that I wish they would be. I don't like the dot on the i & j and the y has an extra bump that sort of annoys me. I was wondering if it's possible to erase these and save it as it's own font so I wouldn't have to keep masking it out every time?

  3. If yes to any of the above which software, app, etc would you use to do it and is it free?
Thanks for your help.

I think you can merge them into one for that I use ~ GIMP ~ when you are done with your layers and work you can click on merger down, button on the right to merge them :)

Definitely use GIMP if you're looking for a Photoshop "twin" (free version). It's got a lot of great features.

I think you guys are somewhat missing what I'm saying. I want to create a font from existing fonts. I don't believe you can make a font using photoshop or gimp but I shall look into it.

Gimp or Paint.met both free and easy to use and can create some sweet things when you get the hang of them
as for making fonts i know a site where you can make your own fonts but not sure of a software that can merge em

It's a skill that requires knowledge of problematic pairs and kerneling. It's not easy and it's best to either look for a tutorial (dafont has an FAQ on it) or ask a professional.

This is a free tool for creating fonts - you can upload existing fonts, or SVG images to build one:

Fair warning though, this is primarily used for creating symbol fonts for website icons and stuff, so it may be extra work to map all the symbols to the correct unicode values.

I didn't know this was a thing. Might have to try it out. Thanks!
