Easiest and fastest way to master sony vegas?

I'm a dude with a face and I know how to use it.
Ok so I've already made a video with the program, but this is NOT a little dinky program like Imovie was. I could just play around with imovie and figure it out, that is not the case with vegas by a long shot. So for those of you who have mastered it, how did you do it? Is there a website with like a step by step tutorial? I want to get this program down as fast as possible and youtubing everything I need to know is not very efficient. Anyone got an idea of how I can kinda, crash course blitz learn it?
 
Have you ever used other programs beside imovie?
I never used Sony Vegas but if I take a look at some screenshots it looks pretty simular to any other editing program's.

I could try to help wherever I can. but I'm sure there are people around here who used it for a while who can explain better than me.

Well I'm getting the basics really quick, there's just all these options, just hundreds of them, and I want to like MASTER it. Plus I think I'm not importing right or something? Or like, my settings are off or something? Play back is jerky, and it's on a computer that was made to be preloaded with the program, so this comp is MADE for sony vegas, so I wonder if it's a setting issue? But I just, I don't want to ask tons of questions and search videos every time I don't get something, Im hoping there is just a website with just really great tutorials that just lay EVERYTHING out I could spend a couple of hours studying each day until a couple of weeks from now I have the whole program mastered. I'm just wondering if there's something like that. Or I could just bug vanessa day in and day out hahaha
 
I use Sony Vegas all the time :) well I did until it started laggin on me.... But anyways I suggest watching bra productions tutorials he showed me the ropes
 
I just edited and tried different stuff. Now I can do quite a lot! Too stubborn to check for tutorials. <.< ..
 
I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum, which is, for all typical purposes, identical to Vegas. I've found using YouTube tutorials, along with a fair bit of messing around, to be adequate to learn whatever I need at any time.

I'm always ready to learn more of course! :)
 
Which version of Sony Vegas are you using Symph? If its the studio version I am sure theres a couple of features missing that are in pro. I would watch bra productions videos, theres a lot for beginners there and you should learn everything you need in no time at all. What sort of stuff are you looking to master in particular, is there anything you want to do that you miss from iMovie or do you want to master everything it can do? If the latter it could take a long time :D
 
Just use it over and over and you'll get great at it, speaking from experience. 'S' is split, ctrl + click and drag the clip will increase or decrease the speed, clicking and dragging the ends of a video clip will extend or de-extend the clip, 'd' changes your tool...

Everytime you want to learn something youtube it, best way to learn things. I now understand how to do perfect titles and word animations as well as advanced things like decapitation and BIG heads on normal bodies.

If you ever need some help feel free to drop me a line and I'll help you as best I can, I wouldn't say I'm a 'pro' but I'm pretty damned experienced with the program by this point.
