Don't know how to get started

So I now have everything I need to get started making videos but I'm unsure of what to do first. I know what I want in my channel to start of with, which are lets plays. I have a list of about 7 more ideas but they are for when my channel is bigger. There are a couple of problems I am having with doing lets plays:

1: length. I know you can't post anything over 15 minutes when you first start out and that's fine but is it ok for my first videos on youtube to be long?

2. All I have is older games until PS4 and next year. Will people want to watch lets players of older games?

I should keep length max 10 minutes. If you're channel gets bigger and bigger you can increase the length.
If you're small, people are not that interested in older games. If you have a big channel people will watch older games.

I think you should start uploading more of the mainstream games and see if that works.

But this are only my suggestions just do what ever you want:)
 
Hell, I enjoy older games more than those newer games as I don't look too much to the graphics and such as I moreso focus on the story and such. I wish more people would do that and not be like "[X] Game sucks because it looks ugly" and such.
 
What you need to do now is create the channel (use a catchy name) and begin posting. share he videos with your friends and have a fun time :)
 
Just a question, what other ideas do you have for your channel? I know from experience that it's hard to grow a channel with Let's Plays - especially when starting out.

Some of my other ideas are:

Random one time plays of older games (like a trip down memory lane)

One time play of games that are underrated and did not sell well - saying why they deserve to be played by everyone

Keeping people up to date on everything in gaming

Random COD videos

I have 2 or 3 more

From what you've told me your planning on targeting different niches at once which is a really good idea. Also someone mentioned doing an intro video - thats a really good start. You could always do it as a COD gameplay as they always seem to get views.
