Dokken is an American heavy metal band formed in 1979 In Los Angeles, Ca.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of Heavy Metal music, however, many of Rock's greatest Power Ballads have been recorded by Heavy Metal/Hard Rock bands.
In 1984 Dokken made their contribution to the Power Ballad genre with "Alone Again"
Not a great ballad, but not bad. It did reach #64 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1984.
Pretty basic ballad, The song was written by singer Don Dokken and bassist Jeff Pilson. Its lyrics talk about a man's depression after a break-up. The original music video had a story similar to a lot of other power ballads.
I used none of the original footage for this video, (I just didn't care for any of it). So I just created my own video, hope you all enjoy it..
Don Dokken sings perfect pitch on this song, the rhythm and tempo are great for a ballad. With the exception of a short unnecessary screaming guitar solo, this is a not a bad power ballad.
