Does Youtube count my views on my own videos?

Does Youtube count my views on my own videos? I uploaded a video to my new channel today and it received some views. I wonder if they are mine or came from some kind of bots.

They are your views. When anyone clicks on your video (even your self) it increases the view count no matter how much you watch and the views can stack up from one person.

Yeah, unfortunately YouTube does count when you click on it yourself. It really sucks. They need to do something to fix it because I'm always clicking on my videos to either edit stuff or reply to comments.

I'll be the third to say yes. It's not fair - when you listen to your own tracks on SoundCloud it does not count your own listens. YouTube should be able to work the same.

It's frustrating! I do annotations, cards and CCs in 2 languages so I always accumulate views before the video is even published :facepalm2:
What I find even worse is that YT counts your own audience retention :banghead2:

To watch your own video without affecting views (or audience retention), go to your DASHBOARD or VIDEO MANAGER and then click on the edit tab of the video you would like to watch. Then either click on Enhancements, Audio, Annotations or Cards to view your video. I recommend watching it in Cards because there you adjust the quality setting and watch your video in full screen. Note: do NOT watch your video in the Info and Settings or Subtitles and CC sections as this will contribute to your view count.

Forgot to mention that you can reply to comments without contributing to views by going to CREATOR STUDIO -> COMMUNITY -> Comments.
