Does WHEN you get views matter?

Just wondering if anyone has any insight...do you know if WHEN a video is viewed matters, in relation to how long ago it was posted? E.g., will twenty minutes of watch time help the video more when it is really recent compared to when it is a month old?

I'd say the more views a video has, the more likely someone will click on it. I don't think when it was posted matters, although older videos often fall behind. I guess one example of this is that my latest video got 119 views in under a day, and I normally get around 15-20 on a fresh, newly posted video. My older videos get views, although I don't think it's that significant. I normally get around 100 views a day, including recent videos + older videos. Hope this helps, I know it's a bit muddled ;)

well think of it like this, if you upload a weekly video and you have posted for a year and each video gets 1-3 views a day, you're looking at near enough to a hundred views per day. So it really doesnt matter but the more you have under you, the more views you will get!

YouTube basis popularity based off of views per day, and relation to how long the video has been up.

So yes. It does matter.
