Does anyone like the new Smosh cast?

I know there's a thread on Thoughts on Smosh, but that was more towards Ian and Anthony themselves and the past videos. I'm only talking about the new cast. For those who don't know, starting this year, Ian and Anthony recruited 5 actors and they appear each week's video.

Keep in mind, I'm new here, but YouTube is one of my favorite sites in general and I felt this was sort of serious (sort of). Anyway, I've been noticing a lot of hate towards them, even in a non-comedic video. Why? Is it because people only watch Ian and Anthony or because they're just not funny? If it's the latter, I can sort of understand even if I disagree. But it's the former, really? Really? Really? If the content is entertaining, isn't that enough? Besides, people kept complaining that the show wasn't funny anymore and it's the same thing. They tried something different, and people still complain.
 
I don't watch Smosh very often and I never even heard of the cast change, so I only have a theory for this. Viewers come to YouTube (instead of TV) to see people who are relatable and authentic and make videos from their bedrooms, but they also expect higher and higher production values. And then at some point when the creator hires a team (or even actors) to help produce content, all hell breaks loose because it's no longer authentic and has turned into a business, just like TV.

Yeah, people say the same thing about the Nostalgia Critic after he revived the Critic and canceled Demo Reel. Then, like Smosh, came a larger cast and skits, and people kept bitching about the cast and skits.

Though I personally don't mind them. I mean, they're popular (especially Smosh) and they have quite a lot of money so of course they're going to have bigger production values.
 
I personally think they are great, I have a big crush on Olivia :D.

People don't like change and I'm not only talking about YouTube.
When it comes to Smosh, they have a huuuge fan base and most of them are kids so the smallest dog always barks the loudest :).
Hopefully they'll get used to them.
 
I used to like all of their videos but with the new cast they're still good, but not as good as before. It all just seems too scripted now (I know they had this before but now it just seems like they're not having fun themselves anymore..)
 
Their views per month since the change are the highest they've ever had, so that proves that more people like it now, right?
 
I haven't watch Smosh for a while now cause of the changes. Personally, I watch it for Ian and Anthony, and it's just too messy for me now...
