Do You Upload Xbox Videos? NEW POLICY

Hey guys, Microsoft announced today in my opinion a stupid policy that requires all videos that are monetized and contain content owned by Microsoft (aka recorded on an Xbox One or 360) to have a disclaimer in the description. Basically, you have to use this template in the description of your videos:

[Name of the Microsoft Game] © Microsoft Corporation. [The title of your Item] was created under Microsoft's "Game Content Usage Rules" using assets from [Name of the Microsoft Game], and it is not endorsed by or affiliated with Microsoft.

Since I can't post links, if you'd like to read up on everything in their new policy, Google "Game Content Usage Rules Microsoft"

I doubt they'll listen to our complaining about the new policy, so I'm trying to refrain from getting all-out mad at Microsoft.

Good Luck!

Do you still have to use that disclaimer if you aren't monetizing the videos? I also seen on twitter that there is a list of 14 games that the new policy applies to. I believe it's just for games that are Xbox specific such as Halo & Forza. Don't think crossplatform games are effected. :)

" These Rules apply to all games and Game Content published and owned by Microsoft Studios and for which Microsoft owns the copyright, trademark or other intellectual property."

:) Just to let that clarify not all xbox games are owned by Microsoft

Yeah this is slightly confusing, would a game that is only published by MS such as "Rise of the tomb raider" come under these rules, or is it pretty much just first party "Made by MS, published by MS and exclusive to MS" games that are affected.

Either way as much as i am not a fan of microsoft i highly credit them for making such a simple and well laid out rules on Youtube videos all written in (sort of) easy to understand english instead of 3rd person legal giberish. other game companies, take note.

This. I'm curious too. None of the XBox games I ever reviewed were made by Microsoft as the main publisher.
