Do you Unsubscribe to channels?

I unsubscribe when I notice that I just don't watch their videos anymore or when I feel like the YouTuber changed a lot and is not the person I liked anymore. Of course, it's not in a bad way but I don't stay subscribed just for the sake of it. I'd be a dead sub without any views for the channel.

I feel the same as most of you on here. Though sometimes a YouTuber can surprise you.

For example, I unsubscribed from Alex Day a number of years ago, because I no longer found his stuff entertaining - the reason why I watched him was because he was angsty and British and teenager-y and sarcastic, and I liked all of that. Then his stuff became stale in my eyes so I unsubbed. I came across one of his videos about 6 months ago, which talks about a viewers relationship with a YouTuber, about how they use them for a while and move on, grow as much as they can with a certain type of 'content' and then consume other opinions/people's ideology, etc.

It spoke to me quite a lot, and as such I subscribed to him one more. He had changed, as I had, but we were at different points in that growth. His candid documentation of that process gave me a realisation as a consumer of media, and his level of self-reflection that as a personality you will always have a shelf life unless you mature with your audience is admirable.

I gotta say this thread inspired me. I just went through my subscriptions and found 8 channels to drop, two of which seem to have deleted all videos. The process was very satisfying in an OCD sort of way.
