Do you have to switch to the new channel design?

I have recently just got a really good designer to do the background for my channel and its really cool and everything. But I recently saw that there is a new channel design. I really like the one i have now so do I have to change it or do i have a choice?

They should let the youtuber decide and if they wont to make it so only one is in use eventually then let us vote. At the end of the day its the youtubers who make youtube what it is its only fair we get a say.
