Do you have to be hyper, funny or to scream?

I've Got It
I watch a lot of youtube channels these days but there is something that keep me thinking. In a lot of videos/channels around there (take the gaming genre) I see people acting funny, screaming in the mic. Do EXTREMELY hyper. If I play a game on my own I seriously don't have to scream 10 times OMG OMG OMG ALMOST DIED THERE!

My question is, my channel is a lot about tutorials and personal stuff. I just want to make some gaming video as well because that is also 1 of my pasion. But I'm not that kind of person that can act funny or scream to a mic XD. So I think my video's will get boring if I don't act like that. Or wont it?

Can someone let me know your opinion :)?

thanks!!!

Some people do over exaggerate, others actually are so into the game they need to scream and jump out of their seat I think. Do whatever you think you're fine with. If you think you can't come up with funny remarks or just not like those other gamers (don't ever put yourself down and compare to them, do what makes you happy and what is fun for you!) maybe you can upload gameplay AND talk about personal things or whatever. I noticed some youtuber like LeafyIsHere upload gameplay footage but he doesn't relate to the game in any way, he talks about other videos and youtube news, reactions, personal etc.

Good luck man! :) Hope you figure out what you like best and I hope I helped at least a bit! Remember do what makes you happy, don't just do it to get views and subs. You need to be happy about what you're doing so you can continue down your journey to becoming a bigger youtuber!

To make gaming videos you have to be one of two things: funny or extremely good. Each can mean a lot of things. You don't have to be loud to be funny, take for example Ssohpkc or Cry; their humor is mainly based on sarcasm and occasional jokes, and they are usually monotone in videos, but still remain funny. On the other hand, Pewdiepie or Markiplier rely solely on their extremely loud and ridiculous personalities to be humorous. To be good at a game means you are either very skilled or very knowledgeable. Like ImmortalHD with CSGO, LevelCap with Battlefield, or really any speedrunner on Twitch. In my opinion, it's good to have a mix of both, usually a more tame style of humor will go hand in hand with skill, but I've seen some people make being loud and dominating a game work.

I am in the same boat. I don't want to act all super excited over every little thing just to stand out. I would rather people see the real me. For the simple fact that it gets hard to put on an act all the time on demand and I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror the next day.

Be true to yourself and the crowd you attract will be better for you to communicate with.

I have been doing this and the going is slow, but I am happy with how it is going.

Another thing to think about is are you holding back from what you are normally like. I was a bit in the start, but not so much now. I still don't use a camera because I'm a little camera shy and I don't have a good area set up yet. It looks shaby I think.

Hope it helps, Have a good one

I say you just have to not sound bored. There was a channel I watched and he was good, had good topics etc, but he always sounded bored. He was only a small channel and I think in the end it stopped any chances he had of succeeding. If you are passionate make sure you get that accross in your videos, reading from a script can take away from that so if you are scripted you may have to act a little, but to be how you would normally about the subject if you weren't reading from a script. With tutorials I think if you sound over the top it would put me off, I want the substance to count more than the persons personality.

Everyone has their own way of doing it, anything is possible. I think your content just has to be .. lively, not boring sounding, Even if you suck at gaming, hey you can even make fun of yourself and i'm sure that will get views and subs lol. I think its just how you show your personality, just don't be boring lol. Like the above posters say.

A gameplay video is kinda just an add on, your personality is what matters IMO

Just have fun. Improve yourself over time.

Thanks for the response guys :)! Just watched some channels that I found in the comments. And I just got an idea now how I'm going to do my video's soon :). Hope it will work! haha ^_^
