Do you fear success?

It's not something I worry about, even the biggest YouTubers are still relatively unknown by the public at large. Yes you do have to play it safe on the internet with your identity and location and stuff like that, but really that's something everyone should be doing, not just famous YouTubers.

BTW, if anyone here hasn't checked out @IsntChrisL 's channel yet, you really should, it's freakin' hilarious! I don't know the guy and I'm not being paid to endorse him, I'm just a fan.

I'm obviously not used to the amount of hate big Youtubers receive, but I think I can handle it. I'm currently a Journalism student(in a non-English speaking country) and I'll graduate next year. I've already had my fair share of hate. From people hating on me because a certain feature or show was cancelled(I've f**k all to say about that, but I was the first to pick up the phone) and actually screaming through the phone. Saying they would come pay a visit to our office. Also received a couple of death threats. I'm really interested in the Middle-East, especially in the wars going on there. So I tweet a lot about the jihadis and that's how I got death threats from I assume IS(ISIS) fanboys.

I ask because soaring in popularity is kind of like a granted wish of a monkey paw. You will gain more money and fans than ever before. That's great!

But a dark side of the web lurks...

You will have people that hate you. Lots of them. They will dislike every video you put up, no matter what. They will leave negative comments every time.

There will be some people that hate you so much they will try to dox you. For those not in the know, this means they will search for your personal info (family names, address, past, etc) and they will publish it on the net with the intent of other sick-minded individuals to hurt you and the ones you love.

It's a double-edged sword. Have you thought of this? Does it worry you?

No I have never fear success on YouTube.

Regards to the second point I have never thought about it but if that ever happened to me I will found a way that I keep myself and my family safe from those people but luckily doxing is not a problem that happens often so I would not worry about it.

I don't worry about hate because I'm pretty used to it. the only hate that bothers me is sexist remarks from older men (happens more often than I'd like to imagine). the only thing I worry about is if I get to the point where people would want to meet me. I've got social anxiety and I'm pretty sure everyone would be very disappointed about how boring I was in real life, and how nervous I would be.
