Do you ever compare yourself to other youtubers?

Once I started making videos I began to compare myself to a fairly well known youtuber I like. I started thinking "Oh maybe my hair should look like hers" or "What if I dress more like that"

Has anyone else ever done the same thing?

None of the big youtubers I watch really do the same thing I do, so I haven't really compared myself to them. However, I'm subbed to Inx (she's on here too) and when I look at her videos - they're funny and edited together well - I sometimes just feel like 'my videos are bad and I should feel bad'.

I'll be honest, I watch other YouTubers and think to myself "Who the **** did this guy/girl make partner before me?!"

It happens more often than not, I'm afraid.

I used some big name to understand the level of comedy on YouTube, to see If there was someone else doing what I wanted and felt appropriate to do. None that far.
I stumbled upon some cases that made me scratch my head, but If people laugh to something that I consider crap, that does not necessarily mean that it is like that, so I never compare really.
I do Stand-Up comedy, and I have to be in touch with the crowd, but on YouTube is different, so I don't realli bother, It has to be me, liked or not.

I compare my channel to the sports camel, since we both do football videos there's a little bit of competition ;)

i do compare and am usaly very competetive on youtube but in a nice way, not necaserally with views and subs but the genre of videos :)

Hmm I'd say I did before but I don't really get my mind clouded with thinking someone doesn't deserve partnership before me. Because I know that things don't happen when you want them to happen they happen when they are supposed to. Another thing is I wouldn't think I would have to be like another youtuber I would just learn and see how they interact while recording.

No. I prefer to create my own style - That sounds a little stupid and childish now I've written it down, :(. But I'd prefer to create myself up if that makes any sense, I've made sure to gain knowledge by watching tutorials and reading articles on how to grow.

The only person I've ever wanted to emulate was Shane Dawson, when I was a whipper snapper. That was a long time ago, I no longer watch SD at all.

All the time. But I try to use it to just glean ideas to improve and find things that I could do better or differently in producing my videos, I have no desire to change my personal style.
