Do you all use tube buddy or vidiq?

Has any of these things helped with your channel?
I make sure to use tags that vidiq suggests.
But it doesnt seem like its helping.

Tags are not that important. YouTube has even said so. Don't waste a lot of time on them. Create generic tags for all your videos and make them part of your template then forget about them. Tags help the YouTube spiders categorize your videos to IDEALLY put them before people who like the same content. The YouTube algorithm does NOT favor them nor take them into consideration. And, yes, there is a difference between YouTube spiders and its algorithm. One collaboration with another YouTube will do FAR more for you than the best tags.

That's why tags are important, the more related your tags are the more youtube will know exactly where to place your video on their search Engines.

Secondly, If you targeted a generic phrase like make money online and I target a similar but longer phrase like How to make money online from home there is a high chance that I will rank my video easier on the search than just with the phrase make money online. The reason for that is because Big channels are already competing for those generic phrase and as a small channel you will just be spinning your wills if you decide to follow what they are doing.

So again just want to point out that tags are important.

Now its not about using tubebuddy or vidIQ as the definite decision makers on your channel. These are just tools to help guide you not define what you should be doing on your channel.

I have been using only the free version of tubebuddy to grow my channel to over k subs and I still find the tool helpful....I have even used the same tool to help a lady from Germany to grow her channel to now over a 1000 subs using just basic Video SEO with a little bit of free promotions here is the video Case study

So its all about using the tools right...Hope this all helps

I think the SEO lessons learned while using the apps are great. But once learned... the apps are not that big a deal. I mostly just like the extra analytics (or at least better organized, channel comparisons). As YT improves Studio I find I rely on the apps less.
