Do we need to have ads on video for Monetization?

Hey Guys !!

Do you really need to enable ads on your channel with Google Adsense or some other networks to earn money?

I do not see any ads on successful You tubers channel? why so? Are they not monetizing it? Or there is something else where youtube pay you for every 1000 click without enabling Ads on your channel

Some channels use referral links for products they advertise in their videos, some are sponsored by a product or company or they have a website that embeds these videos on so they don't want it to have advertisements in it.
