Do sub channel or brand channel subscribers count towards the main channel?

When you create sub channels or brand channels, do the subscribers of those sub channels automatically get added to the main chanel. Or do they count towards the total subscribers on the main channel?

Separate but if you are trying to get a brand deal, saying you run 5 channels with a combined 3 million subscribers is still something to mention even if no single channel has over a million.
