Do people actually like tag/challenge videos?

Hello! I have been finding lots of tag and challenge videos floating around on YouTube and I was wondering if they are actually helpful and if they help reach out to people?
We have done the small youtuber tag but it didn't really do anything.

We have some more tag videos in mind as well as some pretty cool challenge videos and possibly collabs - good or nay?

Oh btw our channel is mainly vlogging (filming everyday life kind)

Thank you!

Well, depends on your audience really. In my opinion, I only like tags of people whom I like watching. I'm not a challenge person but if I like watching the Youtuber, I try watching the whole video. :)

It is your Audience, Do your audience like YOU? Or the stuff you do? because in my opinion there's a difference.

If your audience Likes you then they will watch whatever you put out or upload. If your audience likes the stuff you do in your videos and not necessarily like you, then they could easily go to another channel if they don't like your changes (Tags or Collabs)[DOUBLEPOST=1403903714,1403903693][/DOUBLEPOST]Hope this helps and makes sense :D

It does! :D It's just that there are some youtubers who I really like but I don't particularly like it when they do other things like tags and collabs(for example, funforlouis) but too answer your question that I didn't answer, it's still a good idea! :) Tags are a great way for your viewers to see another side to you or to see more of what you're about.

In my opinion, I think people do like challenges, of course there are the people that don't, but, for the most part, I think, challenges are one of the many popular types of videos on Youtube (along with Gaming, Vlogging, etc). They can be really entertaining, and usually give a good laugh :) As for collaborations, yeah, another one of the big popular things on YouTube, collaborating on a challenge, is always a REALLY good idea in my opinion :) But yeah, both are good, and, I think both bring in views, challenges are interesting, and whether or not they appeal to some people, I think the truth is (and I'm sure most people here can agree), that, challenges, appeal to the majority of the viewers on YouTube. :)

I hope that helped a little bit, don't be afraid to 'jump in the fire', and try it out :) I myself, I have not done the 'Small YouTuber's challenge', or any challenges for that matter lol, but I do want to do some, and would like to :)

I kind of agree with this lol, because, yeah, if I like the YouTuber, then yeah, I'll watch it, because, I like them in general lol. But, at the same time, I do come across new (new to me I mean, like, if I just discovered them lol), channels sometimes just based on their challenges from related video's challenges if that makes any sense at all lol.

I agree, I really believe, if your audience ilkes YOU, they will watch whatever you upload :) I think, to a certain (or full) extent, it's like having a favorite band, your favorite band is number one to you, and you love every album, and every song they put out, because you are such a big fan of theirs. :) So, I think it's like that, yeah, if the viewer/viewers like you, and they already like your videos in general, then yeah, for sure I'm sure they'll love your challenges. :)

Make a facebook fanpage and ask your audience what they want.
In general on youtube Challenge videos are great for getting new subscribers, but tag videos are not that great as they can end up getting you hate for no reason.

They like challenges because every challenge video is different. They will watch it because they are interested how you act.

I think tag videos can engage an audience you already have more, but they don't expand your audience. I had someone request for me to make one and the people who watched it liked it, but it has a significant amount of fewer views than my other videos. I think they're more successful if they have 3-4 people in them, like sister tags and stuff like that, but they don't appeal to as many people.
