Do Ethnic Youtubers Have It Harder?

Not sure if you're including asians in your question but since the definition of ethnic does include asians I'll assume you are. I think it doesn't really matter that much for asians. There are many asians on YouTube who have made it pretty big, especially in music!
 
I don´t think ethnic people has it harder on youtube, every ethnic has a big youtuber.

And i might add, who cares about ethnicity, we are all humans!

But apart from that, I don't think being ethnic makes much of a difference. I'm a UK-based YouTuber (but from a Middle-Eastern background) and have never felt that my ethnicity has stopped my channel from growing or anything.

By the way, thanks for mentioning FaresHtv - I'm part Iranian and don't know ANY Iranian YouTubers, so will check his channel out!

They play a big role outside of the internet, it's not that surprising that the same cultural biases/underlying racism/sexism/etc., follow that onto the online world. Any actual statistics to show a correlation for "underlying racism and sexism"? How can you say DEFINITELY without provided any evidence?
 
It's only perpetuated by the people that don't look at YouTube as a whole. Considering that, at one point the most popular YouTuber was not white (nigahiga), the concept of YouTubers of different ethnicity have it harder than white YouTubers is quite baseless.

Ha in truth I can't really know if my race affected this. While I do feel like being African-american online has played a major factor in my experiences (especially with dating and in communities like Reddit), on YouTube I've actually been pretty fine. I'll just get the occasional "didn't expect you to be black" here and there-stuff I've gotten used to hearing growing up. Doesn't help that people are so used to stereotypes (like a lot of the news videos and whatnot that go viral) cueing the usual "didn't expect that voice" or what have you. Annoying but I've had no blatant n-word spouting racism, perhaps thanks in part to how small I still am as a channel and the fact I'm an animator who usually doesn't show their face. Ha. I certainly don't feel like it's hindered my growth any though.

While I did make an adjustment after those stark analytics, overall I really don't base anything around my appearance. Racism always blows my mind-I'm just another artist who keeps on keeping on.
 
I think everyone kind of thinks they have it hard somehow, bc YT is just luck really. Nothing too big. English is gonna be more popular, but yeah.
