Do custom thumbnails effect views?

Tempting but I don't think that's true. Lots of them seem amazing but then you join and you get a much lower CPM so I might just stick with adsense for now

Yeah definitely. Doesn't allow me to use custom thumbnails still though haha. I'll try finding a way of contacting youtube..one day..

People look at pictures more then words, as a picture is worth a thousand words, or views in this case!

Absolutely, I've noticed my videos with more appealing thumbnails tend to get more views, it really needs to standout in the Subscription box for your subscribers, make it bright, clear, add any relevant short keywords and boom.

it has to be the right thumbnail, but yes, it makes a huge different!! for funny videos, they generally wont click it if the thumbnail shows something boring you know?
