Do copyright strikes and guideline strikes accumulate?

Let's say I have 2 Community guideline strikes, if I receive a copyright strike will that result into my channel being terminated? Or do they have to be of the same type?

I've moved this to the copyright and strike discussion forum. ^^

I believe 3 of any type of strikes can disable your account, but this assumption is based on the image and text that appears on a strike:
UrxwC44aNIheh6GufO9Ei0sdrxuMzvZTPrCQ4eTgtNdJqowJqSjjUax8z_SzyLfhPrCw=w400

"If you receive three or more of one of the types of strikes listed above, we will have to disable your account."

This image is from this website that explains more about YouTube strikes:

Policy used to be it had to be 3 copyright strikes or 3 community guideline strikes to terminate a channel. I don't know if it's changed to be 3 strikes of either.

I know that, I think I didn't express myself correctly because what I was asking was if you need to get 3 strikes of the same type to get terminated, not 3 for both copyright and guideline.

Yeah I understood, that's what my reply was referencing. I'll just repeat what I said in a different way: policy used to be it had to be 3 of the same type of strike for termination to occur. I don't think it [policy] has changed.

Yeah i agree with this. However, i think You-tube will assess your channel with respect to how much income your content is making for YouTube. I dont think YouTube will going to terminate accounts that has millions of subscribers. Those channels obviously generate too much money for YouTube. So i believe, they may punish them by limiting some features in their channels such as video duration for certain time periods.

This is just a myth, many big channels have been terminated for violations beyond 3 strikes (prime example was /mrtechnicaldifficult back in the day, although his 2nd/3rd channels were allowed to stay up). There's no system to place to stop account terminations once 3 strikes happen, it's automatic regardless of your size.

The reason why you might think this would be true is because they get away with a lot of stuff but still, the creator would get a strike -- they may however appeal and win because of their size, I don't know. It really depends on the violation. Trusted Flaggers have flagged videos that have been removed and strike-d large creators.

Shane Dawson has received so many community guideline strikes over the years and years of him creating videos.
