Digital recorders for external audio capture.

I was wondering if anyone recorded audio externally and then mixed it with the video in post. I'm using a Gopro Hero 5 to capture the video and wanted something to plug in a stereo lapel microphone into The lapel mic I'm using is the Sony ECM-CS3, which is amazing audio for $20. I have the Gopro mic output splitter for the Hero 5 and it works, but I don't want a wire running from my bicycle handlebars to my mouth. . .

Why I don't want to use my phone: I use it for navigation so I want another audio recorder that I can just put on my body. If I could find one small enough to clip to my shirt that would be great, if not then I can put it in my pocket running the cords underneath my shirt.

Anyway, suggestions would be great, thanks.

Try looking into Tascam products, but they might be a bit large for what you want.

Grr, I can't provide links so search:

Sony ECM-CS3
Sony ICD-UX560

Yeah, I was looking at those, they are a little big and since I was going to use an lapel mic, the Sony ECM-CS3 clipped to my shirt I thought maybe there was a smaller recorder to use with it.

I was looking at something like the Sony ICD-UX560 not because I have something for Sony but it's predecessor did really well in reviews. I'm basically looking for a hight quality small audio recorder that can record in stereo. I thought with just audio I could find something like the size of a iPod shuffle or something but I guess not.
