Differences between a Content Owner and MCN?

Hi everyone,

Ling time since I've posted here...

I know a few VNs that are being rewarded a content owner through their current MCN, I'm wondering what the differences/limitations between a CO and full MCN. From what I can see so far, it's the same minus YouTubes recognition that you are not an MCN.

:)

A Content Owner, generally, are for brands and companies that work with YouTube and need to manage multiple company channels. Content Owners are made specifically for that company and are not allowed to be used for claiming non-company channels (i.e. third party channels) since they are a managed (I'm pretty sure that brands only get one CO to manage the entire company unless they apply for another one). An MCN on the other hand is when a network get's two Content Owners (a Managed and an Affiliate) and a special contract from Google that allows you to claim third party channels.

You should talk to @Shane since he would know more (I'm pretty sure that I got everything right but it would be best to get another set of eyes).
