Dashbaord views going backwards.

I've Got It
My views actually decreased lol. the analytic overview page shows my total views as 2,482,235, last weekend on my dashboard page total views said 2,431,130 it was there for days without an update. Right now the dashboard says 2,419,656. More than 10,000 less than it showed a few days back. Is anyone else's numbers going backwards?

I wonder if there are problems updating and it somehow got refreshed to early last week some how? It seemed like my number was stuck at 2, 318,ooo s for days before jumping to the 2,431, 130. Are they going back and trying to correct information and work their way back to the present? I am used to delays, but I have never seen it go backwards before.

As with all record keeping, things can go astray. Some servers might have over reported their numbers, and they now have to fix that problem. Not that noticeable for you, but I bet I would notice a 10k drop pretty much instantly being just shy of 100k total views myself. In your case you where only docked 0.5% of your total view count. For me that would be a 485 views drop. I doubt I would have even noticed that. It's +/- a day worth of views. And with the lag that is ever present in views reporting... Nope, wouldn't have noticed at all.

Overall I think they do a really good job with the analytics. It seems like something has been off the past 3 to fours weeks. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything.

Hmm that's odd - who'd you p**s off that works for YouTube? :p

I haven't had this happen, but I did have a video lag at the same view count for a few days even though I knew it got more views (it finally updated several days ago though). I'd just put it down to YouTube's system acting up. Sorry I can't be of more help there! Haven't had too much experience diving into the dashboard.

This can happen when they try to correct an error, you delete a video or two, so it could've been just a simple bug in the system.
Hmm... I did unlist several videos recently. I didn't delete any, but I wanted them out of my feed.

This isn't related, but since you asked who I ticked off lol...
I did have the opportunity to participate in a Google research panel this last Fall. I loved it. Everyone I met from Google was so nice. On the dashboard one day there was an invitation to apply to attend, and got thank you page after submitting, saying thank you for applying to be a part of the panel, and that if I fit the demographic they were looking for, that I would be contacted. When someone from Google called I did a happy dance. It felt amazing that someone from Google actually called. They had some YouTube creators, and some viewers that didn't have channels. It seemed like they really wanted to get feedback from different perspectives to make YouTube better. It definitely made me feel good about Google :)

Oh wow, that's awesome! I guess there's a reason why they say Google is one of the best companies to work for!
