i see a lot of cover songs on YouTube,
and I wonder how do they make it legally so they don't get copyrighted.
my coworker ask me and idk how can I help her, so I thought asking here is my best choice coz' most the people here are veteran :D

anyone here do a cover songs on YouTube? if so, can you help me? :D

Certain networks have deals with record labels to allow members of those MCNs to do cover songs; also if you recently accepted the latest Partner TOS, it also covers cover songs to some extent. How far, I am not certain.

Quite a few cover songs on YouTube however, are not covered by either of these. These covers, when posted, get Content ID'd and all of the income from them goes to the artists, bands or record labels; though the songs remain visible on YouTube.

They don't get "copyrighted", by the way; they get "third party matched".
