Cover song revenue sharing - how much?

chottom

I Love YTtalk
Today we got our first "Matched third party content" on cover song and this particular song is eligible for revenue sharing. Does anybody knows what percentage of the revenue usually the copyright owner shares with the YouTube creator?
In YouTube help is only written "You will be paid revenue for these videos on a pro rata basis."

Good question, I'd also be interested to know which songs fall into the revenue sharing category. I assume it's only those from certain labels who have agreements with YouTube, but it would be good to know which they are in advance.

It seems YouTube works on it and within the next few month we may have something like a list with all the titles and artists.
We were able to monetize Adele "Rolling in the deep" so it seems that at least the covers of Universal Music Publishing Group songs are OK for revenue sharing.

Yes I have heard that when you post covers, they take all of the revenue! So I guess it depends on the song...

Perhaps contact the claimant and ask them? Nothing has been reported on the revenue share to be exact.

Thank you to all who answered.
I will let you know approximately what is the revenue share once it starts to come.
Actually once you acknowledge the "matched third party content" for cover song you must wait for a second check up by YouTube staff to verify that "there is no other song apart from the already identified by the algorithm" (I think they simply want to verify that you are not uploading somebody's else cover song). So it may take some time for the revenue to appear (if ever).

PS. While I was typing the first revenue has arrived. Comparing it with a video uploaded a day earlier but with approximately the same number of views we are allowed to keep around 20% of the revenue. Of course this is not very representative/reliable data but still it doesn't look bad at all! :)

Did you ever find out the number?
